verb--to eat so much that you feel like you have trouble breathing
That was me last night. Stufficating. I had a rather rough visit at the neurologist with the kids. With the running around (the girls) and the crying, screaming, and scratching (Josh), I've had nightmares that were worse. To top it off there was an accident on the way home, so it took a million years to get home.
"Why aren't we moving?"
"Because the cars ahead of us aren't moving."
"My tummy hurts."
"I'm sorry your tummy hurts. Here are some kisses. MMMWAH."
"My legs are hurting."
"I'm sorry your legs are hurting."
"I'm hungry."
"I'm hungry too."
You get the idea. Finally, I drove through the grass on the side and got off on the frontage road.
The kids thought that was a blast.
Then we had to wait in line at the pharmacy because Josh was out of medicine and we needed to hand in our new prescriptions.
Anyway, it was a long afternoon.
Joseph let me escape. The only problem was that I was tired of being couped up in a car sitting in traffic. So I hit the wide open Highway 380 West and decided to go adventuring. I turned north to the town of Prosper (instead of south to Frisco like I usually do). I didn't find much there, so I kept heading north. I found the downtown area of Celina, pop. 2250. My kind of place. I ate at "Lucy's On the Square." And they meant it. That's all the downtown area was--one whole square block.
The food was delicious--EVERYTHING homemade. So I ate fried green tomatoes for appetizer (Yum!), chicken fried steak (a favorite of mine) smothered in gravy, mashed potatoes and fresh green beans sauteed with onions and a homemade roll. (Delicious!) I followed it up with a piece of Kentucky Bourbon pie (pecan pie with bourbon, choc. chips, whipped cream, choc. sauce). Okay, that was a bit much. I should have stopped at a couple bites. I was in heaven then. But I felt compelled to eat the whole thing. So, I felt like dying on the drive home. And then I got home and realized I was stufficating.
But I think I found a new favorite place to escape to!
