At 5:30 this morning I got awoken by the phone.
It was the Emergency Alert System for the University of North Texas (UNT), where I now teach an undergraduate class on T/Th. Due to bad weather (specifically ice storms), I don't have to teach today. That school is in Denton, 34 miles away.
What makes it nice is that the weather, although yucky, is not dangerous here in McKinney. So, it's like a free ride at the amusement park.
