Misc.

The first "big" word I remember learning was miscellaneous. I loved that word (still do). It feels so good rolling around in your mouth before slipping off your tongue and out into the world, where it proclaims that you are no ordinary person. You are a person who chooses words carefully. Anybody can say "etc." or "a big heap of random items" or "and whatever else happens to be in the kitchen drawer." But it takes a person of knowing to say "there are a number of miscellaneous items on the agenda today." Even better is knowing the abbreviation: misc. Now you are even more intelligent. You know how to manipulate words. You are the ruler. You are in power.

Learning new words can become an addiction, I warn you. But, just for fun, go out and learn a new word today!
