I'd like to think one of the things that gives me my Teddi charm is the fact that I'm a fairly intelligent person, but sometimes amazing things come out of my mouth. Like the following . . .
1) Scene: the drive down to Tyler, Texas, and I spot a sign for "Robert E. Lee Stadium."
"Why in the world would they name a stadium after Robert E. Lee here??"
2) Scene: Blythe, California, across the street from a cantaloupe field.
"Oh, you mean cantaloupes don't grow on trees?"
3) Scene: a pre-Easter feast where I am serving my family some of the key elements of a Passover dinner (no gefilte fish) to talk about the symbolism.
"And the veal symbolizes the Lamb of God. Oh, wait a minute. I forgot veal is baby cow. No wonder it was so much cheaper than the other lamb for sale."
I'm sure if you know me for more than five minutes you could add something to this list. To spare my self-esteem, would you keep the story to yourself? Thanks!
