Celebrity Sighting

Our family went to McKinney Library on Saturday. Josh and I made our way to the children's section while the girls and Joseph went ahead. Along the way we passed a cute little boy. He was saying to his older brother, "He goes to my school! He goes to my school!" (Josh is hard to mistake for anyone else with his green walker.) So I asked him, "Oh, you go to Webb?" He shook his head. After I had Josh say hello, we continued on our way.

That small little moment has had me thinking for the rest of the weekend. One of the things I love about kids is that to them, anyone can be a celebrity. While I was still teaching, there were many times when I was at a store and I would see kids waving and saying hi or pointing at me and telling their parents that they knew me. Funny thing is, half the time I had no idea who the kids were. But that didn't matter. For a fleeting moment, I was thrilled that someone recognized me and thought it was fantastic that they saw me.

I wish we all had more days like that!
