And the Thunder Rolls . . .

One-one thousand, two-one thousand, three-one thousand . . . Too close!

Last night was at least the third night since moving here to Texas that Joseph and I were awoken by the thunder that might well have been the very jaws of Hell opening for all of the noise that wouldn't stop. Light flashed turning the darkness to noon day for a split second. Then I waited to see how close the thunder was. Here in Texas it always seems to be too close.

Thunder storms awake some primal fear deep within. I could be having a heart attack for the loop-de-loops my heart does whenever these storms start. The forces of nature seem to remind me that no matter how advanced our society becomes, no matter how big and bad our weapons are, we are no less at the mercy of these natural forces than cave man was.

Lucky for me tornado season is just around the corner.
