When Joseph and I lived in Upland, California, we lived 15 minutes away from Ontario International Airport. I loved that airport. It had two terminals, but they were small. Even when your gate was at the end of the terminal, the walk was not very long. And the best part was that the prices were usually just as good as into LAX. We could fly everywhere and for great prices. The best thing was after a long day of flying, you could be home in your bed in 15 minutes!
Now we live about 30 miles away from DFW. That would be okay, except that Hwy 121 from McKinney through, oh, almost the whole way to Dallas is STOP AND GO! Yes, that's right. Red lights and all. Ugh! So, a 30 mile drive takes us 60 minutes (no traffic) or 90 minutes (with traffic).
The good thing about DFW however, is that after you navigate your way to your terminal (there are 5 of them), your chauffeur can drop you off near your gate. You walk in the door, get your boarding pass, go through screening, and walk to your gate. All on the same level. No long walks. It's a large airport, yet a small one at the same time.
Anyway, enough of my wild rantings. The picture is my siblings. We got together the first weekend in November (with our parents) in Utah so we could see Joshua before he leaves for Iraq. Good food, good folks, good fun!
