Serendipity
We didn't have a lot of time to go to some exotic land far far away for our vacation this year. We'd heard about this fabulous science museum that the kids would absolutely adore, in none other than Oklahoma City. So, we packed our bags. Headed out on our 3-hour-tour (Okay, it really takes us 3.5 hours, but who's being fussy here?). And partied as hard as three teetotalers with three children can in the Great American Heartland.
And by far, the most exciting thing for me was the discovery, a veritable serendipitous event, of this restaurant . . . Ingrid's Kitchen. I had the best Reuben I've had in ages. The kids had grilled cheese on homemade bread. Kaitlin's BLT was scrumptious. And Joseph's brat sandwich was heavenly (to him . . . I stay as far away from brats as I can). The German potato salad had me thinking about it all night (in a good yummy tangy tongue pleasing way). And the desserts . . . well, there just isn't any word to describe them.
Viva la road trips! Viva la oases of tongue-pleasing paradise! We're definitely stopping here the next time we find ourselves in OKC.
