I Know What a Sock Must Feel Like

Or any other article of clothing that has gone through the wash.

After teaching my first day of spring semester, I can empathize with the aforementioned sock. The gentle undulating. Okay. This isn't so bad.
The rinse cycle. I'm drowning! I'm drowning!
The spin cyle. Are there words to even describe this stage? The increasing speed. The flattening against the side of the machine. The wringing out (okay, spinning out) of every last drop of wringable/spinnable moisture.

And quite honestly, I actually felt like a sock that had gone through the extra rinse (which also means the extra spin) cycle.

Whew!

Would I change a minute of it? Not on your life.

Viva la teaching! It's what gets me up in the morning.
