I know, I know. You're not getting your Teddi fix. I'm sorry. Fall melancholy, I guess.
Anyway, here's pix of Rachie's 3rd birthday. Three years ago I was lying on the OR table, praying that the spinal block would work so that when they cut my gut open I wouldn't have to scream out in agony.
I'm a little weepy tonight. Rachie's my baby. She's not a toddler anymore. Now she's a preschooler. And I don't know where the time is going. Sigh!
The cake is a "Pongo" cake (from 101 Dalmatians). I had been planning on doing something else, so I made the cake up in these pans, but I changed my mind at the last minute. I think the dog still looks pretty cute for not being at all planned out.
Rachel got some new books for her LeapPad, some Dora toys and coloring book, and some Dora bubble bath! She REALLY enjoyed her bath tonight. I especially loved the bubble beard she kept putting on.
And Shari informed me that Rachie needed party hats and balloons. I bought the hats and some blowers, but no balloons. We also yelled "Surprise!" when Rachie came down the stairs with Joseph. Since every cartoon shows a surprise party, then that's what the kids expect. Too bad they don't realize that they aren't supposed to know about the surprise. Oh, well. I guess they grow up too soon anyway.
So, Rachie thought her cake was the best ever. Shari thought the cake was amazing. Josh thought the cake was mmm, mmm good. And I thought the party was a hit.
Happy Birthday, Rachie!
