As a kid I was always amazed at the stories of the Civil War--brother fighting against brother, families divided. They came from the same blood? How could this be?
And as my family is now taking sides in this year's presidential election, I can see how. We're a family in disagreement. We're a family that sees the path our country should take differently. We're a family divided.
I'm just glad that it doesn't have to come down to taking up weapons against each other.
