Acting Vs. Writing

The more I write, the more I realize how close the art of acting is to the art of writing. As a writer, I have to think about character motivation, draw upon my emotions to make sure my writing is "real." And sometimes I find myself saying, "I never wanted to be an actor--and this is why."

But, as I try to look on the bright side of things, I have thought of some reasons why writing is still a good choice.

#1: I don't have to memorize any lines.

#2: I don't have to be a size -5 and eat only celery and water.

#3: I don't have to worry about papparrazzi stalking my trips to the grocery store without makeup or hair done.

#4: I don't have to sit for 3 hours in make-up each day (although I would like an occasional facial).

#5: I can be a popular writer much longer than most actors are ever popular.
